Why FoxGuard Gutter Covers are the Best Gutter Guards on the Market
Why FoxGuard Gutter Covers Were Designed
When homeowners think about protecting their gutters, they’re often met with a long list of products that promise maintenance-free performance. Unfortunately, many national gutter guard systems fall short — end up clogging, damaging roofs, failing to perform, and/or are very expensive. The cheaper options often lift shingles, clog, don’t last long, or are simply poor-performing products.
That’s exactly why FoxGuard Gutter Covers were designed: to solve the real-world problems that traditional national brand covers create. Fox’s Flowrite Gutters designed and produce a high-grade gutter cover that typically sells for 50% or less than the national brand guards you see on TV.
With over 30 years of gutter experience, Fox’s has seen all kinds of covers that just didn’t work. This created encouragement to design FoxGuard, the year-round gutter protection that does not compromise your roof or curb appeal.
Designed to Protect — Without Damaging Your Roof
Many gutter guards tuck under shingles and can void roof warranties. FoxGuard Gutter Covers is unique in that it attaches directly to the gutter using our in-house custom hangers. This installation method:
Prevents damage to shingles as lifting shingles is not required
Maintains manufacturer roof warranties
Creates a clean, non-invasive installation
The result is one of the cleanest and most roof-friendly gutter protection systems available.
Nearly Invisible from the Ground
A gutter cover should protect your home — not distract from it.
FoxGuard covers are typically color-matched to the roofline instead of the gutter to blend into the roofline. Matching the roof color usually makes the covers visually disappear into the roofline from the ground.
Why we Shy Away from White Gutter Covers
White is the most common gutter color by far. Customers always ask us why we don’t typically offer white gutter guards. White covers are more visible from the ground than covers that match the roofline. White covers extend the white (gutter) line above the white fascia of a house, making a more bulky-white appearance. White covers also stain over the years as dirty water and debris run onto the cover, whereas dark colored covers don’t show the staining. White covers tend to ice up more than dark colored covers as they reflect the sun versus dark colors that capture the sun’s heat and help melt the snow and ice, even in sub-freezing temperatures.
The dark colors will attract sunlight in the winter and help melt snow and ice, even before dark asphalt shingle roofs (as shown in the video). This allows your gutters to take on melting snow and ice from the roof throughout the winter. FoxGuard Covers prevent your gutters from freezing solid in the winter making it one of the only covers benefitting you all year round.
Dark Colored Covers
Blend into the roofline
Do not visibly stain
Captures heat from the sun, helping melt snow and ice
White Covers
Do not blend in as well as dark colors
Visibly stain from dirty water and debris
Reflects the sun and do not capture heat for melting in the winter
Designed to Stay Clear, No Matter the Situation
FoxGuard Gutter Covers are engineered to keep debris out of the gutter while maintaining proper water flow. Depending on the surrounding environment, FoxGuard offers two options:
Perforated covers (left) for the majority of situations
Non-perforated covers (right) for particular trees or extremely heavy tree coverage
Fox’s Flowrite Gutters typically installs the perforated covers. They do take on heavier rains than the non-perforated covers. The perforated covers allow water to enter the gutter through the top and wrap around the front lip. The non-perforated covers only allow water to enter via surface tension through the front lip.
Fox’s Flowrite Gutters provides a no-clog warranty on their systems when installed by their certified installers and meet all of the required criteria. This warranty includes the interior of the gutters and downspouts. Certain situations, such as heavy tree coverage or a tree right over the house, may require some maintenance on the top of the cover, typically on the inside corners. There are situations in which there is not a gutter cover in the world that will prevent buildup in some valleys. Often, even with some buildup in these areas, homeowners are able to easily wipe away debris from the ground with a painter’s pole with a brush attachment, as FoxGuard does not grab debris like screens tend to do.
Why is FoxGuard the Best Gutter Guard for Metal Roofs?
Metal roofs shed snow rapidly — often damaging gutters or allowing snow to curl into them, increasing the chances of damage the next time the snow sheets. FoxGuard Gutter Covers help deflect snow off of the heavy-duty cover rather than hitting the gutter, reducing stress and potential damage.
FoxGuard Gutter Covers are one of the only high-grade gutter covers that do not go under the roof and are the best option for gutter guards on metal roofs for these main reasons:
Compatibility: FoxGuard does not go underneath the roof. It pushes against the fascia and locks into the hangers.
Snow Deflection: Metal roofs are known for shedding snow quickly. When snow sheets off the roof, it hits the FoxGuard Cover and deflects away instead of ripping the gutter off or curling into your gutter.
Tailored for Pole Sheds: Water accelerates down smooth metal roofs more than shingle roofs. For this reason, bigger 6” gutters are common on buildings with metal roofs- especially pole sheds. FoxGuard is manufactured in 5” and 6” so we can accommodate homes and even the biggest pole shed roofs.
In Summary
FoxGuard Gutter Covers were designed from real-world gutter experience to deliver dependable protection without compromising your roof. Their roof-safe installation and year-round performance help prevent clogs, manage snow and ice, and keep water flowing where it should.
With options for different debris conditions and a no-clog warranty, Fox’s Flowrite Gutters & FoxGuard Gutter Covers provides a durable, low-maintenance solution homeowners can trust for the long term.
