What Is a Slide Retainer?
The Foxtail Flip slide retainer is designed to secure the downspout extension on a hinged downspout so that it stays in place — without shifting or rattling once installed. The retainer wraps around the downspout and locks into itself on the backside - hidden against the wall. The inside is wrapped with felt to prevent scratching your downspout and to give the retainer enough “grab” to stay in place when the downspout is in the unlocked position.
How it Works
The retainer is able to slide up and down to lock and unlock the extension. There is just enough of a tolerance to keep it in its place when unlocked. Slide the retainer down and over the end of the extension to keep it from going anywhere.
